AnneMarie Johnson’s work focuses on the relationship between finitude and transcendence in the human experience. Using religious and secular subjects, AnneMarie explores moments in which the corporeal embodies and reveals the eternal. In her latest work she draws inspiration from art of the Northern Renaissance, contemporary artists such as Grzegorz Gwiazda and Colleen Barry, and more.
AnneMarie graduated from the University of Dallas (Irving, TX), in 2018 with a B.A. in Art - Painting. In 2024 she completed the three-year Classical drawing and painting program at the Lyme Academy of Fine Arts (Old Lyme, CT) under Jordan Sokol and Amaya Gurpide. Additional studies include the intensive drawing year at the Florence Academy of Art, U.S. (Jersey City, NJ) and graduate work at the University of Dallas. AnneMarie is currently an Art Fellow and instructor of drawing at the Stabat Mater Foundation in Tyler, TX.
